One of the biggest implications of the Data Protection Act is that any company who wishes to provide the information they hold on to a third party must third acquire the consent of the person whose information it is they hold. Therefore as soon as they begin to start to collect process or pass this very sensitive information they need to get the consent of the individual in question before they do so.
