Whether you have a solo walk to work after lunch or multi-day weekend hiking or camping excursions you have to balance moving, thinking and working out during your yoga class.  When we book an extended weekend with friends or family, we usually envision a retreat in the mountains or an all-inclusive resort.
But in this case, we really want to ease in to some yoga practice on a day that we can get it in without planning. The fact that it doesn’t have to be a resort might be a good excuse.
Here are my top picks for yoga classes for multiple day activities: Build’s on Purpose Yoga and Meditation Camp at The Resort at Pelican Hill—Cost is $245-$495 a night (Departures May, July, August) With four weeks of classes and lectures before and after the camp, there’s no way to pass this up. Need inspiration? You can take a class from 9 a.m.
to 3 p.m. on Sundays (incorporating progressive poses and breathing meditation).
Plus, the yoga studio is adjacent to a pool and beach, two of the most popular activities during my stays at the resort. My time at the Rejuvenation Spa makes me just want to chill out all day while taking advantage of massages and facials.
Or why not take a yoga class on a yacht and visit the spa as you visit Malibu beach and other nearby locations? Peaceful Fitness Yoga Retreat at Offbeat Dreams Spa—Cost is $355 per person for all five classes (Departures: June 22-September 1) Pair an oil/rub class with a massage or facial (yes, you can get one while you’re meditating or stretching), or attend a morning or afternoon boot camp, Pilates, or group fitness class in your swimwear (this is for all ages). Surf, hike, and yoga If you want to give your body the rest and relaxation it deserves, head out on the Santa Barbara coastline to enjoy the sounds of the waves and the sand. Or start your morning at El Morro State Park where you can go on a two-hour hike.
A ton of classes are happening there and if you miss one, you have about a five-hour time frame. Even better, you can load up on food and drinks to drink while you’re there, giving you a little buffer to really feel the peace.
And if you want to get your sweat on but still get some necessary wellness, head to the beach to do a yoga/surf class. In addition to teaching yoga on the beach, I really like Ojai Yoga’s Recluse Class.
It’s on a moving gravel path that has nice views and there’s a yoga mat right outside the windows. Then there’s the outdoor rip-rap yoga class at Boot Camp Magic at L.A.
Fitness. There’s a big sand beach and I love it when the air is crisp and chilly because it adds a sense of peace.
